A new lawsuit accuses Walmart of misleading customers seeking treatments for a variety of ailments from colds to asthma. The Amherst- headquartered Center for Inquiry is suing the retail giant over how it markets homeopathic products. "There's no scientific evidence whatsoever that homeopathic products work for any disease," said Nick Little, Center for Inquiry's Vice President and General Counsel.

A state police lab is expected to spend weeks examining evidence from an apparent meth lab discovered deep under a Walmart parking lot at Sheridan Drive and North Bailey Avenue on Monday.

When Walmart opens its new store in the Town of Cheektowaga Wednesday, they'll welcome many customers who rely on public transportation to get there. An agreement to allow Metro Bus access was announced on Tuesday.

Judge issues stay of Walmart assault sentence

A state appeals court judge has issued a stay of the prison term imposed on Jacquetta Walker of Batavia, the woman recently sentenced to five years in jail for assaulting a 70-year-old Walmart employee.

Members of an animal rights group held a brief demonstration outside Walmart's Thruway Plaza store in Cheektowaga this morning.

The activists are calling on the retailer to stop confining pigs to tiny crates where they are unable to move.  The group is calling on the company to require its pork suppliers to phase out the practice.

Mercy For Animals National Campaign Coordinator Phil Letten says at two separate Walmart pork suppliers, the group documented pregnant pigs confined to "filthy, metal gestation crates" and pigs with open wounds and pressure sores.

Cheektowaga's Super Flea, the popular weekend destination of bargain hunters, will soon make way for a Walmart Supercenter.

In written release, Walmart announced that it intends to build on the Walden Avenue site and relinquish its current location near Harlem Road.
