Democratic primary voters on Thursday have a choice of four candidates for state attorney general after former AG Eric Schneiderman resigned in May over allegations he physically abused several women that he dated.

A candidates forum at Genesee Community College Monday hosted the Democrats vying for their party's nomination in the race for New York Attorney General. Zephyr Teachout, Sean Patrick Maloney, Leecia Eve and Tish James spoke at length about a variety of issues, but, according to Howard Owens of The Batavian,  it often seemed like their was a fifth candidate in the room: President Donald Trump.

Leecia Eve, one of four candidates running in the Sept. 13 Democratic primary for state attorney general, believes her background makes her more qualified to hold the office than her opponents.

The Democratic frontrunner in the primary race for Attorney General, Tish James, says if she’s elected she’d be independent of her political ally, Governor Andrew Cuomo.


Zephyr Teachout, one of four candidates running in the Democratic primary for State Attorney General, says battling corruption in state government would be a top priority, if she’s elected. In the past few months, several former associates of Governor Cuomo have been convicted of bribery and bid rigging, and both former legislative leaders were found guilty on corruption charges.   WBFO Albany Correspondent Karen DeWitt talked to Teachout, about her proposals.

There’s a four way democratic primary for Attorney General of New York, to replace Eric Schneiderman, who resigned over allegations he physically abused women that he dated. One of the candidates, Zephyr Teachout, was at the Capitol for several events Monday.

They are asking Democrats Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, as well as Republican candidates, to take a stand against the Constitution pipeline and other natural gas pipelines, that if approved could criss- cross the state.

Governor Cuomo’s been spending more time on the road than at the State Capitol in recent weeks, on an election style campaign to promote his ideas, including a $15 minimum wage.

Liberal law professor Zephyr Teachout is eligible to challenge Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary on September 9. A Brooklyn judge Monday dismissed an attempt by Cuomo supporters to remove her from the ballot.

The challenger to Governor Andrew Cuomo for the state’s Democratic primary for governor, Zephyr Teachout, is facing a challenge of her own from the Cuomo campaign. Teachout will be asked in court to prove that she’s really been a resident of the state for the past five years.
